Every other Thursday, I play jazz clarinet down at the Snooty Fox in Canonbury with ace guitarist Ricky Fabulous (out of that there Belleruche). Our duo is officially called “Polkadots and Moonbeams”, after an old jazz song, but nobody ever calls us that.
We were there again last night, struggling to be heard over a busy crowd of schoolteachers having an end-of-term party, and the insistent sound of pouring rain. I’m going to have to bring a mic next time.
