Yesterday my sister Lucy and I ditched the kid in daycare and headed off on our own for the day. There was a lot of swearing. Not for any particular reason – it was just nice to not have to mind our language for a bit…
We decided to tackle one of Toronto’s “Discovery Walks” – a two-hour trek around the Humber Valley.
So what did we discover? Basically, that this walk was frankly rubbish. After trekking through a couple of housing estates, past a sewage farm, across the river at Lake Ontario – which was admittedly quite picturesque – back through some construction work, a petrol station, and some more housing estates (following a garbage lorry – ewwwwwww, stinky!) we were very unimpressed.
Then we went and ate our own bodyweight in sushi:
And finally headed to a pub for the afternoon to settle down for some serious knitting:
Along the way, I hit up Romni Wool – an awesome yarn shop – with my credit card, which did not escape unscathed. But I’ll blog about my adventures in attempting to buy all the wool in Canada in a later post.
